Non-profit organization's Early Childhood Education Program provides comprehensive early childhood education services for children between ages of 3-5 through the ACS, Head Start and Universal Pre-Kindergarten programs with overall goal of improving children’s intellectual and social development. The Program address the child care needs of hundreds of low-income and working immigrant families by providing free or affordable full day child care services.
The Program integrates parent and family engagement strategies by implementing high quality family and community services. The family services aim to promote parents’ involvement by offering parents with opportunities to participate in the programs and related activities, as well as provide community services and resources information to the families, in order to enhance their self-worth and improve their quality of family life.
The Program is now seeking Family Workers to establish and maintain a positive relationship with families, utilize family development approach, such as advocating and providing resources for families in order to promote self-sufficiency, as well as encourage and coordinate parent involvement in all aspects of the Program.
DUTIES INCLUDING BUT NO LIMITED TO:
1. Recruit and enroll children according to program recruitment policies
2. Maintain and establish good communication and family partnership with parents
3. Encourage and coordinate parent involvement in the center. Plan, conduct and assist with parent committee meetings, Policy Council/Committee meetings, workshops for parents, etc.
4. Advocate and assist parents: implementing parent volunteer program, conducting home visit, offering referral services and providing community resources.
5. Maintain program or case records in a timely manner, such as children’s health files, monthly students’ attendance, registration of incoming students, emergency contact numbers etc.
6. Maintain a positive work environment and work cooperatively with all agency staff.
7. Assist in the classrooms when needed.
8. Perform general office duties or other duties as assigned by supervisor.
REQUISITE BACKGROUND:
· Associate Degree in human services, family services, counseling, psychology or related field
· One year’s experience in education or social service field
· Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
