Austin Pathways a b provides road range of service coordination for public housing and Project Based Rental Assistant (PBRA) residents with four pillars of service delivery, including youth education, workforce development, digital inclusion, and health and wellness.


Job position summary: This position is Grant Funded. The Fatherhood and Resident -Led Crime Prevention Coordinator will engage in activities to promote, coordinate and support the implementation of the I-DADS and the Resident-Led Crime Prevention program, as well as its sustainability and evaluation. The purpose of the I-DADS program is to empower fathers and father figures to be productive and participatory members of the family unit in order to enhance life outcomes for youth living in public housing. The I-DADS program provides peer support through a group model, as well as case management, employment skills/job placement, relationship & parenting skills, legal assistance, and other supports. The purpose of the Resident-led Crime Prevention program is to empower and support residents to prevent crime in their communities. Recruits residents and fathers (or father figures) of children living on a HACA property.


Summary of Essential Functions
:


  • Promotes community awareness regarding the programs and the value of involved residents and fathers using various tools (e.g., program brochures, resident meetings, presentations, social media, event participation etc.).
  • Responsible for intake interviews with participants designed to provide baseline demographic information and collects various data points for reporting and evaluation.
  • Manages data, participant files and reporting as required by funders and Austin Pathways and stays up to date on training required by funders. Responsible for tracking progress on goals and ensuring HACA and grant goals are met.
  • Maintains regular contact with participants to address issues affecting ongoing attendance and to encourage program participation and/or completion.
  • Provides mentoring, coaching, advocacy, information and referral to community resources as needed. Provides follow-up with program participants and service providers to ensure proper service provision.

  • Observes trainings and support group/instructional sessions to share constructive feedback aimed at improving participants' class experience and gathers information on additional resources.
  • Conducts surveys, interviews, and /or focus groups to receive input from participants regarding program impact and support services. Creates programs monthly and quarterly progress reports and distributes to others as necessary. For a detailed description email: hr@hacanet.org


Qualification and Knowledge
:


  • Required
    : Bachelor's Degree in education, social services or related area or Associate's degree and four (4) years' experience working in the field of family self-sufficiency, child welfare and/or fatherhood programs.
  • Preferred: Experience providing direct social services and/or workshops to help low-income adult minority males develop skills that help strengthen family self-sufficiency.
  • Experience working with minority fathers or father figures that have experienced chronic unemployment, substance abuse and/or incarceration, homelessness or other significant challenges.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish. Demonstrated ability to communicate in English effectively both orally and in writing in a clear, concise, and convincing manner. Skilled in organizing and implementing community/outcome-based supportive services programs. Skilled in data collection, analysis, and report development.
  • Ability to deal effectively with situations that require tact and diplomacy, yet firmness. Skilled in the use of Google G Suite and Microsoft Suite of Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Bondable.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License, Eligible for coverage under Housing Authority fleet auto insurance.
