The Field Account Manager is responsible for ensuring company proposals compliant to the RFP specifications and requirements are written in a compelling, relevant, and concise manner and professionally addresses the customer’s needs while ensuring that contracts and change orders are thoroughly vetted.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Determines proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs; studying requests for proposal (RFPs), contracts and change orders; attending strategy meetings.
- Gathers proposal information by identifying sources of information; coordinating submissions and collections; identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals to include full contract, change order and proposal review.
- Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval; entering and monitoring tracking data; coordinating requirements with contributors; contributing proposal status information to review meetings; transmitting proposals.
- Develops proposal by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance, and evaluation; writing, revising, and editing drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials.
- Prepares presentation by evaluating text, graphics, and binding; coordinating printing.
- Maintains quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support databases.
- Obtains approvals by reviewing proposal with key providers and project managers.
- Improves proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate; implementing changes.
- Consolidating RFP requirements / Proposals and conducting meeting with product team/field team for bidding strategy.
- Interfaces with clients on pricing structure, terms, conditions, insurance and other contract attributes.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent directly related experience plus a minimum of 7 years of related experience, including 2 years of leading a team.
- Minimum of 5+ years contract related experience, including contract negotiations and administration experience
- Ability to interpret and populate client software systems utilized for bidding process.
- Previous pipeline experience preferred.
- Previous experience in a supervisory capacity is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate across functional lines.
- Productive work habits including attention to detail, follow through and the ability to prioritize and complete work activities in an efficient and effective manner.
- Ability to assist in creating a department atmosphere which encourages motivation, innovation and high performance.
- Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.
- Knowledge of Excel and Windows Office Suite of programs at an intermediate to advance level.
- Demonstrated professionalism, judgment, and discretion in working with sensitive information.
