POSITION SUMMARY
The Field Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing fiber projects, providing technical oversight to the Regional Technical Managers (RTMs), and creating technical training plans for the RTMs. Workload demands in some markets may necessitate overnight travel. The Field Operations Manager will work closely with all elements of the organization including but not limited to: Field Technicians, Fiber Installers, Construction Managers, Account Management, Sales, OSP(Outside Plant) Team, Project Management, and Logistics.

The Field Operations Manager will be responsible for discovering issues, fixing and maintaining current networks and video infrastructures, and deploying systems to company standards. This position fills the need to provide technical acumen to RTMs and ensure fiber projects are being deployed per scope. This position helps bridge the gap between the deployment side and service side with having a fiber ‘master’ at the helm of communications. The position will report to the Operations Director.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Maintain a customer-first attitude to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Recruit and engage contractors when needed; dismisses contractors as warranted
  • Maintain personal relationships and good lines of communication with property staff, clients, other sub-contractors or any other important point of contact
  • Provide technical, procedural, and product guidance to our field technicians and contractors
  • Instruct all field personnel in proper administrative and technical procedures
  • Help identify and coordinate local contract labor for work orders in their region
  • Travel to each assigned site as needed to perform low-voltage cabling work, outside plant work, electronics work, and network troubleshooting.
  • Share information and provide feedback to internal teams on a consistent basis
  • Work with Pavlov Media Operations Team to resolve potential obstacles
  • Effectively troubleshoot networking issues
  • Have mastery knowledge of network diagrams and other technical manuals
  • Assist with upkeep of network documentation and product training materials
  • Ensure that network quality meets Pavlov Media standards

  • Strong knowledge of routers, switches, hubs, wireless, fiber optics and other technical components used in networks
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues on a data network
  • Strong knowledge of Video solutions from DISH Network and DirectTV
  • Ability to install a satellite dish and associated peripherals
  • Ability to install video taps and splitters
  • Ability to troubleshoot RF issues on a video network
  • Ability to assemble mechanical rack structures
  • Ability to fasten and secure electronics to building structures
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Mac OS, Adobe Acrobat. PC hardware and Microsoft Office Suite applications

EDUCATION AND
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Desired Majors: Telecommunications Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields
  • Must have experience with the techniques, application and installation of grounding, Cat5, fiber optics, LAN/WAN networks
  • Four (4) years of experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Five (5) years of successful deployment experience in data and/or video, LVC, fiber installations, and/or construction management
  • Two (2) years of experience troubleshooting networking issues
  • Familiarity with the video techniques, application and installation of hardline distribution, satellite installations, RF distribution, CATV, QAM, HDTV, SMATV or other video technologies
  • Current driver license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Travel 30% of the time
  • Be on your feet for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to use hand tools
