Job Opportunity:

We are looking for a colleague to join our team as a field service technician. You will be helping our customers with all their hardware and software related service needs. You interact daily onsite or via phone and email with customers and other Esko staff. This job requires extensive travel throughout the US and some in Canada.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Installation of inspection systems. This includes computers, software, mechanical interface and camera optics. See https://www.esko.com/en/products/print-inspection/for-packaging
  • Train customers on equipment operation and maintenance. Both hardware and software.
  • Repair hardware and software equipment malfunctions and preventive maintenance
  • Remote troubleshooting of system and application problems
  • Timely written or verbal reporting on daily and weekly activities, parts, other

Your Profile:

  • Travel requirement: US (80%) & Canada (5%) of the time by air or vehicle
  • Some formal education in electronics or mechanics or previous military technical training
  • Electrical skills: understand signal flows, connection diagrams, multi/voltmeter, oscilloscope, relays, AC/DC
  • Mechanical skills: ability to read mechanical assembly drawings and assemble components
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. and maneuver over, under and around printing equipment.
  • Good analytical skills and quick learner
  • Customer oriented, proactive communicator and with professional attitude
  • Strong sense of urgency and with excellent follow up
  • Able to stay calm and positive under pressure

Computer skills:

  • Good understanding of PC hardware, Windows operating system and basic networking
  • Comfortable replacing computer parts such as hard drives, power supplies, network and video cards and able to troubleshoot issues
  • Comfortable installing device drivers, MS operating systems and application software.
