is currently seeking a Field Service Technician to join their team in Biglerville, PA 17307

** $1000/- Signing bonus after 90 days of employment **

Who we are:

GVM is a family-owned company with deep roots in the agriculture industry. The company originated from Andgrow, in East Berlin, Pennsylvania. Andgrow was a fertilizer dealership, founded in 1975 by Jack Anderson. Shortly after it’s beginning, Jack decided he wanted to be able to offer his employees year-round, full-time employment, so Andgrow began manufacturing foam markers in the ‘off-season’. In 1977, Andgrow became GVM, Inc. and we continued to add to our product lines to be a full-service agricultural retailer and snow equipment manufacturer.

About the role:

Service Technicians are responsible for accurately diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, repairing found issues, inspecting both new and used equipment and building a professional and friendly rapport with customers. This position reports to the Shop Manager.

What you'll do:
  • Ability to apply practical knowledge to service electrical and hydraulic systems, both in house and in the field.
  • Ability to accurately repair mechanics, including machine drive train, frame, suspension, spraying systems, and spreader system.
  • Diagnose and program CAN-controlled electrical systems.
  • Program, diagnose and troubleshoot controllers and understand their functionality.
  • Inspect new and used equipment prior to sale, perform necessary service work based upon thorough inspection.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections on customers equipment
  • Travel, including overnight, may be required.
  • Complete proper paperwork in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Attend and participate in service training when available.
  • Resolve customer’s concerns efficiently and effectively.
  • Always promote a positive attitude.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Exhibit a high level of customer service daily.
  • Professionally represents the Company.
  • Background in agriculture industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of the fertilizer/chemical industry a plus.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Skilled in MIG and Arc welding practices and proper oxy-acetylene torch and plasma cutter techniques.
  • Must be able to develop a thorough understanding of products sold.
  • Excellent people skills, strong drive to succeed and a team player.
  • A high energy levels.
  • Displays self-discipline.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Responsible for owning/purchasing their own tools

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Mechanically Inclined (1 Year Experience Preferred)
  • Good Communication Skills

  • Physical ability to bend, lift, climb, kneel, etc
