New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) is a not-for-profit corporation that promotes economic growth across New York City's five boroughs. As NYC's official economic development corporation, it is charged with leveraging the City's assets to drive growth, create jobs, and improve quality of life.
The Doe Fund has partnered with the NYCEDC, to hire approximately 100 full-time workers at the living wage. These workers will be responsible for site cleanup, area maintenance, graffiti, and snow removal throughout the five boroughs. The Doe Fund will also provide these workers with additional vocational and job training, with the goal of improving their career trajectory and gaining higher-paid employment.
Program Overview: Graffiti Free NYC (GFNYC) utilizes customized vehicles equipped with power washers and paint sprayers to clean gra9iti throughout the five boroughs of New York City. The program's fleet consists of 24 cleaning vehicles and has a staff of over 50 members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and monitor the daily activities and performance of Graffiti Workers
- Oversee routes, scheduling, and delegation of assignments and dispatch of fleet vehicles.
- Ensure that crew members' quality of work, productivity, and professionalism are up to company standards.
- Ensure crew members are following appropriate program policies and procedures. Ensure information collected by the crew for the assignment is accurate.
- Maintain organized records of all assigned and collected data. Manage program inventory, back stock, and supply purchases.
- Assist in training staff on equipment operation, maintenance, and other operational protocols.
- Assist in coordination, dispatch, and supervision of QOL program work crews during snow storms.
- Provide leadership and strategic direction for the program.
- Oversee assigned staff for snow removal services to assigned EDC-managed properties. Make recommendations re: hiring, promotions, termination, and disciplinary actions.
- **SNOW REMOVAL IS MANDATORY**
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience managing a program of over 30 workers. Experience in training staff and ensuring high-quality performance
- Experience managing inventory and supply purchases
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills, reasonable thinking skills
- Proficiency in using technology for data collection and management, web-based tools Ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Familiarity with the five boroughs of NYC
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed
- Valid NYC Driver's License with a minimum of 5 years of driving experience
- Pass a driving test
- MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook
- Bilingual – English and Spanish
- Technical knowledge in machinery and equipment repair
- NYC residency within 180 days of hire
