Position Summary: This role is an entry-level financial analysis role, assisting the Finance team in preparing forecasts and reporting results against forecasts. This individual will be responsible for analyzing operating expenses and reporting on trends and outliers with actionable insights. This will include the use of existing reporting and forecasting tools as well as constructing new tools for the same purpose as needed. A key focus of this individual will be on the labor hours and wages used by the field of operations.
Essential Functions:
- Financial Analysis
- Monthly
- Evaluate Operating Expenses vs forecasts
- Identify trends by geography and Operations managers
- Draw connections between key initiatives and results to evaluate effectiveness
- Weekly
- Report on store labor costs vs forecasts
- Evaluate schedules created by GMs against budget
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist with company budgeting and reforecast key expense accounts
- Assist with forecasting company labor metrics
- Project based analysis as needed
- Deep Dive analysis on specific costs related to operations
- Build ad-hoc reporting as needed on a monthly or weekly basis
- Analysis Tools
- Strong grasp of Excel and intermediate spreadsheet building
- Preferred experience in Power BI or other data visualization tool (e.g. tableau)
- Experience Power Point, SharePoint, Outlook
- Optional: Knowledge of SQL, DAX, Python, Visual Basic
- Communication
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Able to adapt communication style to audience
- Timely communication of project status and timelines
- Organization
- Ability to manage high volumes of requests
- Ability to evaluate priorities and communicate shifts in focus to accommodate high priority requests
- Ability to manage projects with multiple components with varying deadlines
- 1-3 years experience in Financial Planning & Analysis functions
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance
