Summary:

FinTrust Connect has partnered with a growing community bank that is looking for a permanent bank controller in the DFW area. The controller will be responsible for accounting operations, the integrity and accuracy of the bank’s accounting records, the production of financial reports, implementation of a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policy.

Producing financial reports, Accounts Payable, Monthly Accounting Close & Reconciliation, Prepare & Submit Annual Tax Forms, Maintain and monitor internal controls for accounting

Requirements:

• High school diploma and an Associate’s degree is required
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is preferred;
• Three plus (3+) years’ of bank accounting experience (including managing bank accounting staff as a Controller or accounting manager)

Description:

• Performs and/or oversees accounting functions to include: accounting operations, accounts payable, general accounting and reporting (management, regulatory and financial reports).
• Daily accounting operations processes, including daily reconciliations, the daily money settlement, public funds monitoring, correspondent bank relationships and investments.
• Accounts payable
• Monthly accounting close process
• Maintain accurate records and ensure appropriate accounting treatment of various accounting processes including but not limited to loans and deposits, investments, fixed assets, accruals, prepaids and property taxes, income and expense; includes overall responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger.
• Monthly reconciliation process
• Prepare and submit annual tax reporting forms related to accounting department proceeds, including but not limited to 1099’s
• Maintain and monitor internal controls as they relate to the financial statements, including those related to FDICIA and financial reporting;
• Create and implement accounting policies to ensure GAAP and regulatory compliance;
• Develop processes, procedures and controls for compliance with newly-issued GAAP accounting standards and changes in regulatory reporting requirements;
• Management, regulatory (including the call report and FR Y9C) and financial reporting processes, including internal and external reporting on a monthly, quarterly, annual and as-needed basis.
• Coordinate with internal departments (including internal audit, compliance and risk) and external firms (including regulators and examiners, and external firms providing audit, tax firm, and outsourced internal audit services)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
