Position Overview

We are seeking a candidate for a part-time, virtual role as a financial planning analyst. This position is flexible with up to 15 hours per week. No previous experience in our field is necessary.

Candidate should have a passion for personal financial planning and desire to help others by writing comprehensive financial plans that cover topics such as retirement, college funding, and insurance needs. Role consists of working with financial advisors on our team to develop written financial recommendations for our clients. There are minimal client-facing activities required in this role. The advisor is ultimately responsible for the delivery of the advice you will generate.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for financial education, good written communication style, strong desire to learn new things, and preference for a flexible schedule.

You can ditch the commute and set your own hours with the expectation of attending some monthly and bi-weekly meetings and some general availability for advisor connection during business hours. Some weeks there may be no work and other weeks a need for up to 15 hours of work. The first year, expect to work a minimum of 5 hours a week while training and gaining educational background.

You will utilize MoneyGuide Pro, Social Security Analyzer, StockOpter and potentially other programs in the development of comprehensive financial plans.

Responsibilities *

• Complete Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional designation within first year of employment (or have equivalent financial background).
• Frequent, virtual check-ins during first year with training analyst.
• Work directly with financial advisors to develop comprehensive financial plans after the first year of training.
• Use MoneyGuide Pro and other applications to keep client plans and details up-to-date.
• Run operational reports for the financial planning department and provide insight.
• Availability for bi-weekly department meetings and monthly all-office meetings.

Qualifications

• No prior financial background required; we will invest in you! Candidate will need to complete FPQP (Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional) designation within the first year of employment, costs associated with materials will be covered.
• Ability to quickly grasp new concepts, then consistently apply them to various client situations.

Compensation

$25/ hour to start and increased to $35/ hour upon completing FPQP Designation
