StubHub is hiring an analyst to provide accounting and finance expertise while driving development efforts. This role is ideal for someone looking to merge finance experience with an opportunity to grow their business analytics and product management skill sets. You should be ready to shift your career towards technology-enabled corporate finance because we are the engineering arm of the finance team. Our new teammate will be heavily exposed to and will learn, with our help, SQL, Power BI, SSRS, and any other needed tool. The finance technology team is responsible for scaling the financial back-end of our global, multi\u0002currency marketplace through building processes, automation systems, internal tooling, and reporting. We also support our finance and accounting team with accurate data sources for audit, tax, analysis, and similar purposes. Our team allows our marketplace to thrive and for the team to provide technological solutions to our corporate finance, product, and engineering stakeholders. We are a diverse team of engineers and analysts who provide accurate financial data and systems to the organization.
What we expect
- 1-2+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or fintech product role
- Advanced Excel or similar, data analysis tools, SQL knowledge
- Experience analyzing & reconciling high volume, multi-currency transactions
- Understanding of accounting fundamentals like double-entry book-keeping, processing accounts receivable, and payable
- Would not blame an outstanding delta on currency conversion or a rounding error without data
- Accountant or finance professional expanding their automation skills
- Internalizes the impact of your work on the business and prioritization
- Has an eye for improvement & a product-oriented mindset What you’ll be doing
- Review financial data from an automated reconciliation tool to ensure that the corporate accounts and projections are accurate
- Assist then drive month-end close processes, reconciliation of outstanding obligations, & other balance sheet accounts to database
- Capitalize on opportunities for automation and increased self-service solutions across financial reporting and organizational tooling
- Collaborate with engineering teams on the design and implement those solutions
- Develop relationships with and knowledge of different Payment Services Providers
- Investigating and reconciling line-level data for tax and audit purposes, reconciling that data to accounting systems
- Support Engineering, Finance, Product teams in ad-hoc financial reporting
