I get to make a difference every day and have a nice work/life balance.”We are seeking an enthusiastic Flatbed Sales Director to strengthen the partnership between our company, agents (similar to a franchise), and customers.

Essential Job Duties

  • Proactively connect with agents to inquire about new opportunities, current capacity, and growth; visit agent sites on occasion
  • Hunt for prospective customers
  • Support Driver onboarding and retention; assist with discrepancies that may arise with accounts
  • Coordinate with agents on quotes, timeframes, inquiries, and feedback
  • Complete Requests for Proposals (RFP) and Requests for Quotation (RFQ) in support of freight opportunities
  • Present performance of sales and service, along side future sales opportunities
  • Meet with direct manager to review monthly/quarterly goals
  • Attend industry conferences, conventions, and trade events to stay up to date on the latest industry trends
  • Maintain sales opportunity progress via Salesforce
  • Train and coach coworkers as needed
Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of years of experience in outside sales with a focus on Flatbed Sales, employed by a Transportation Logistics company
  • Reside within 50 miles of a national airport
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%
  • Fundamental understanding of Transportation Logistics and Supply Chain industry
  • Collaborative team player
  • Confident, influential, consultative, and solutions oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong typing skills and technically savvy
  • Ability to quickly pivot from one task to another and remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to read, speak, write, and understand English in a professional manner

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain/logistics, or related field
  • Reside within Illinois or Texas
