Fleet Maintenance Manager for Transportation Company
Position Summary:
This position will direct and coordinate activities of the maintenance department to ensure optimum use of equipment, facilities, and personnel. The FM is responsible for supervising companies’ maintenance programs for heavy-duty equipment to keep a safe and efficient fleet.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the records management of all equipment.
- Work closely with HR to make sure all equipment is utilized to its full potential.
- Participate during driver onboarding.
- Ensures compliance with all DOT regulations.
- Manage maintenance costs and spending at budgeted levels.
- Maintain warranties, PM schedules, and repair records.
- Inspect equipment to ensure they are being maintained properly.
- Recommend equipment purchases & sales based on maintenance records & utilization.
- Create new policies, solve problems & provide recommendations for improvement.
- Ensures and recommends the appropriate training and development programs for staff.
- Create weekly, monthly fleet maintenance and efficiency reports.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 of experience in operations or maintenance.
- Knowledge of Class 8 truck drivetrains and diagnostics. Also, knowledge of truck and trailer, electrical, hydraulic, and structural systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Class A Commercial driver’s license preferred, but not mandatory.
- Prior responsibility for budgetary management of multi-site maintenance facilities preferred.
- Must be self-motivated and self-directed while staying on course with overall company objectives.
- Bilingual a plus- Polish & Russian
