Position Summary:

Clean and sanitize floors in assigned work areas, following established policies and procedures, to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the hospital.

Position Accountabilities:

1. Maintain established department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control.

2. Receive assignments and assemble needed materials and supplies and transport to work area.

3. Use specified cleaning/disinfecting/sanitizing agents.

4. Notify supervisor of a need for new supplies or when a change of product is necessary.

5. Follow specific procedures, work patterns and routines.

6. Sweep, dry/wet mop, scrub, wax (or remove), buff, and sanitize/disinfect floors.

7. Shampoo carpeting throughout hospital, including Family Medical clinic, Heavener Medical Clinic, and Cavanal Clinic.

8. Clean and wax all hard floors (tile) throughout hospital, Family Medical Clinic, Heavener Medical Clinic, and Cavanal Clinic.

9. Shampoo, and disinfect carpeting in cafeteria.

10. Remove biohazard materials from hospital to staging area for pick up and disposal. Restock empty and clean biohazard material containers.

11. Perform other duties as directed.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education: High school education or equivalent.

Experience: On the job training. Have knowledge of operating vacuums and buffers.

Required Certification/Registration: N/A

Skills: Knowledge in the use of vacuum cleaners and buffers. Knowledge and utilization of chemical and solutions used in cleaning and waxing floors.

Physical Demands: Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing, walking, lifting, bending, reaching, pushing and pulling.

Working Conditions: Subject to injury from chemicals and moving parts of equipment. In contact with airborne diseases and other diseases associated with the hospital environment.

Pay: From $10.00 per hour
