Food Safety/Quality Technician

Position Overview:
The successful candidate will assist the Operations Team in achieving exceptional Food Safety & Quality each and every day. This Member will interact with Operations Team Members and Leadership to ensure quality checks and audits are completed and standard operating procedures are followed. Our FSQ Technicians are very involved in issue identification, resolution, and proactive measures to prevent re-occurrences.

- Monitor equipment to make sure operational parameters are being met
- Provide feedback on daily audits, microbiological swab results, and corrective actions
- Interact with Corporate lab to coordinate samples and results
- Collect samples and micro swabs related to Food Safety programs
- Participate in cross functional team meetings to generate ideas for further improvement
- Analyze results, track trends, investigate issues, and implement corrective actions related to Food Safety programs
- Utilize auditing skills to verify Sanitary Dressing program is implemented and product quality standards are maintained
- Develop and implement new strategies to enhance Food Safety programs
- Monitor SSOP programs to ensure compliance
- Directly observe and record HACCP program checks
- Ensure compliance with USDA Regulations
- Be challenged to learn and grow on a daily basis.
- Train Members in Food Safety and Quality programs
Qualifications (What you bring to the job):
- High School (GED) diploma required, some college preferred.
- 1-3 years of QA Experience preferred
- Experience collecting and plating micro samples
- HACCP Program experience
- Excellent ability to communicate at the facility and Corporate level, (both orally and written).
- Superior computer skills (Excel, Word, Access) and ability to learn in house software.
- Detail oriented, responsible, self- motivated individual.
- Action oriented with a strong drive for results
- Excellent Problem solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member without direct supervision.
- Flexibility to work weekends when needed
