This position is responsible to cook and prepare meals within the Wheatfield Academy kitchen for students, staff, and guests of the campus. Primary responsibilities are to ensure that appropriate meals are provided in accordance to the direction and planning of the Food Service Coordinator and following best practice for food service guidelines as prescribed by the health department and serve safe training. This position will also oversee and/or do any cleaning of the guest apartment, as needed.

Physical and Visual Acuity Requirements

The physical requirement of this position is defined as Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The visual acuity requirements needed to perform this position include having visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.

Required Education and Experience

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 1 or more years’ experience within the food service or catering industry

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in food service, nutrition, youth or family ministry, or social work
• Administration or organizational and planning experience

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• Must demonstrate a proactive work ethic to see needs and meet them.
