This position of Foodservice Field Sales Rep/Operator Specialist is responsible for exceeding annual sales goals by working with distribution, and operators of non-commercial accounts such as healthcare, colleges/universities, sports, entertainment and convenient stores within the DE, NJ & PA area. Areas of focus will include establishing and building relationships with these key independent operators, regional chains and Tier III Distributors. This role offers a great opportunity to focus on aligning business and customer goals to deliver unique operator solutions. The Field Sales Rep will need to reside in the Greater Philadelphia, Delaware or Southern New Jersey area.
- Research the potential customer for discovery utilizing external resources
- Generate leads utilizing a hunter mentality
- Move opportunities through the sales pipeline to close business
- Participate on weekly regional team call
- Work directly with Business Development Manager to grow distributor and operator sales. This includes developing and aligning on joint plans including targeted sales efforts, marketing plans, category optimization, innovation launches and promotional activity.
- Update Business Manager with forecasting
- Receive and follow up promptly with product complaint calls and follow appropriate documentation/reporting
- Own direct and meaningful relationships with decision makers (all levels) at operators, distributor partners and key accounts
- Meet with distributor call list on a Monthly basis to discuss new products, promotions and discovery
- Collaborate with the internal support team to ensure efficient execution of business
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred
- 1-3 years of Foodservice distribution and Foodservice sales experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and close new business
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills
- Strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
- Ability to excel in fast-paced environment where change and growth are part of the culture
- Multi-task oriented and collaborative team player with service-orientation
- Culinary experience beneficial
- Travel (~80%), including overnight travel
