A Tucson faith-based non-profit foster care group home provider seeks a responsible SPLASH (group home) Manager to oversee our children's needs including scheduling/attending medical, dental, court and CFT appointments, as well as supervising and scheduling group home staff. We?re looking for a compassionate, care-driven professional who believes in facilitating wellness for children in care and leadership for staff. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative, leadership and time management skills as well as extensive experience working in the foster care industry.
JOB SUMMARY: The SPLASH Manager?s role is to provide a safe, Christ-centered temporary home for children in care. SPLASH Managers are part of a Christ-centered management team of pastoral leaders with high expectations for biblical character and values including: honesty, integrity, respect for all peoples, and high levels of trust and regard for teammates. The SPLASH Manager must model for children in care and for all staff, the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

PAY: Starts at $35,600 annually; experience and education are rewarded with a higher pay amount (DOEE).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Manage and lead the home including children, support staff, and all facets of documentation. Create a collaborative environment that values those we serve as well as those who work alongside.
- Conduct monthly team meetings to share ideas and brainstorm improvements and collaborate as a team.
- Review staff on a regular basis for competencies on areas they have been trained in for effectiveness. Provide quarterly feedback and goal reviews, as well as bi-annual assessments.
- Ensure staff schedules, as well as your own personal life, allows for self-care and healthy learning and growth spiritually, emotionally and physically.
- Follow Performance Management Policy from Human Resources.
- Supervise and steward a home for the children in care by creating a safe, nurturing environment while teaching basic life skills and implementing positive behavior plans and behavior modifying techniques following GAP?s Behavior Management Plan, Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) strategies, and state regulatory requirements. Direct care of children during schedule overlaps and house ?hand offs?.
- Provide direct care of children during schedule overlaps and when coverage cannot be found. Successfully use TBRI strategies and techniques to redirect child behavior. Maintain calm yet playful demeanor when interacting with children in care. Build trust with children and staff.
- Create and manage the online calendar for appointments, visits, etc. for the house. Staff the house for extra help, night staff, and weekend staff. Review and confirm schedules in advance, identifying and resolving conflicts in scheduling.
- Manage intake and discharge of children from the home. Ensure the belonging inventories are completed at entrance and exit from the home.
- Assist children with homework, providing appropriate workspace and guidance to complete tasks, and engage in activities with groups or with individual children within the group, as their needs require; often implementing these tasks without other support staff. Assist with transportation as needed for appointments, while staying in ratio.
- Maintain children?s case files for state requirements. Forward information to Case Managers as appropriate; daily and monthly.
- Schedule doctor and dental appointments in compliance with state statute. Also schedule referrals for specialists. Schedule transportation for therapy and visits for children.
- Ensure records, both paper and electronic, are maintained in compliance with federal/state/local regulations. Complete all paperwork in a prompt and careful manner, keeping records and information confidential.
- Manage shopping from the agency food pantry for the house. Ensure menus with related NSLP paperwork and sanitary guidelines are followed as required for safety. Ensure children receive balanced meals while learning appropriate table manners.
- Ensure that the home, yard, and vehicles are kept in a safe and clean manner. Make routine repairs as needed; ensure landscaping is maintained. Report any safety or licensing issues and all emergency safety issues to the Facilities Director.
- Complete documentation and report to Program Director relating to complaints, Significant Incidents and appropriate staff performance evaluation.
- Personally grow in leadership and spiritual life to exemplify the characteristics of a cultural champion.
- Represent GAP/SPLASH to the public in a positive, professional and responsible manner.
- Attend CFTs, Court hearings, professional staffings, IEP meetings, and FCRB meetings on behalf of the children in the home. (Mileage reimbursed when using personal vehicle.)
- Agree to flexible hours when needed due to on-going care of children. On call hours as set by Director.
- Plan house activities and positive/active physical interactions such as playing games, hiking, biking, swimming, and group recreational activities.
- Engage with the children in an appropriate manner.
- Comply with GAP Ministries and state confidentiality policy. Follow all parts of state contracts.
- Carry a company smart phone that is used for work purposes and kept in a safe responsible manner.
- Follow outlined policies and procedures for dealing with children and duties.
- Coordinate with Program Director to create and successfully implement Behavior Action Plans.
