Job description
Start Date: July 1, 2023
Do you have experience with at-risk youth? Do you desire to make a difference in the lives of students who dropped out of high school? Our mission is to re-engage students in our dropout recovery program by providing virtual instruction, in-person coaching, wraparound services, and post-graduation opportunities. ChallengeU is known for being forward thinking, and very loving & caring to at-risk students.
We believe that every student is capable of graduating from high school and can transition into post-graduate opportunities. That’s why we are creating a year-round Ohio dropout recovery community online high school for students who have not been successful in, or are unable to attend, a traditional classroom environment.
The Graduation Coach will provide the best-in-class service by offering assistance that will address the emotional, social, and behavioral needs of our students as they complete their online courses needed to graduate. The instructional services will be delivered by state-certified virtual instructors and our curriculum is aligned to state standards.
As a Graduation Coach you will develop and support students by applying your knowledge of case management and community support service organizations to align their services to meet the needs of each student. Strong and effective communication skills are necessary, as well as stable emotional intelligence and empathy for the students. The anticipated student caseload is not expected to exceed 35 students but may moderately increase as the program develops over time.
Residence in the Cincinnati-Dayton corridor of Ohio is required with the expectation that travel to other locations may be necessary to provide students in-person support. This is a full-time, 12-month-a-year position that will have a flexible work schedule as approved by the supervisor.
This is an exciting opportunity for an inspiring, motivating, and skilled relationship builder to make an impact on students who have been left behind.
