Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), this position manages and advocates for Delaware Valley Community Health’s (DVCH) strategic position and legislative efforts involving federal, state, local government officials and community representatives. Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with government officials, community organizations and relevant associations as a means of promoting the organization. This position also maintains positive relations and proactive communications with news, press and social media channels. Oversees the organizational community affairs activities and online reputation management.
Qualifications, Education, and Knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Health, Health Administration, Marketing or other related field of study required, Masters preferred. Prior experience in Government Relations within a community health center or health care preferred. Must have knowledge of mainstream internet applications and Microsoft Office. Demonstrated experience with social media management and content creation. Must possess strong interpersonal skills, flexibility and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of internal and/or external contacts. Demonstrated professional and political diplomacy; exercise discretion, independent judgment and trusted handling of confidential information. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and achieve actionable results through others. Must possess strong writing skills, excellent project management skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks with minimum supervision.
Essential Responsibilities:
I. Communications Representative
Assists in designing and coordinating company internal/external communications. Enhances the relations between company and employees, clients, government, community. Maintains communications policies and procedures, monitors company social media and utilizes electronic publishing technology.
II. Public Relations Specialist
Prepares and disseminates information regarding an organization through newspapers, periodicals, television, radio and social media. Ensures public relations goals and strategies are met. Helps maintain a favorable public image for the organization.
III. Marketing Analyst
Supports and uses professional knowledge in promoting production and marketing activities for an assigned region or product. Creates marketing materials, plans and performs marketing activities for an assigned region and product. Analyzes market data to monitor performance of the marketing activities and plans. Attends marketing events, assists and supports the company's product promotion.
IV. Government Affairs
In coordination with the Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer and Government Affairs Manager, plans and executes all aspects of the organization’s public relations policies, objectives, initiatives and communication programs that promote and support the organization, mission and business strategies.
V. V. Supplemental Duties
Completes other duties as assigned by the Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer.
