Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Front desk Supervisor, the Front desk Receptionist is responsible to provide excellent customer service to patient. Check in patients: review patient demographics and insurance, collect patient copayments and past due balances. Prepare work for next day and reconcile completed work daily. The Arrhythmia Center is a high volume physician’s office.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Verifies accuracy of patient insurance and demographic information.
  • Create patient account in ADS billing system
  • Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness, and obtain any missing information.
  • Reconcile charges in a timely fashion
  • Follow workflow and front desk policies and procedures
  • Collect copayments and balances
  • Responsible for providing medical records to follow-up team for chart review/audits
  • Check eligibility using websites
  • Scan charges in Onbase.
  • Responsible for all duties are completed accurately, efficiently and timely.
  • Responds to requests for information and telephone inquiries from patients, insurance carriers, and outside agencies in a courteous manner.
  • Meets productivity standards
  • Performs other related duties as requested

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to handle more than one task at the same time.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with insurance carriers, patients, and co-workers
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.
  • Experience without of network billing is preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum one year front desk reception experience within a hospital/physician practice setting required; cardiology experience strongly preferred
