Summary of Position
The Front-End Web Designer will work with a team to design, develop and enhance websites, mobile applications, and web elements for the University System of New Hampshire institutions with a strong focus on user experience, accessibility, SEO principles, and applying USNH standards and industry best practices. Work will be done using a range of contemporary tools and would be leveraging PHP, HTML, CSS/SASS, javascript, and other front-end technologies.

Other minimum qualifications
Experience designing websites and application interfaces; ability to adapt to different design styles and adhere to a brand; extensive practical experience and strong skills in graphic design and with overall website development including HTML and CSS/SASS skills. Experience with interaction-design methodologies, including documenting user flows, creating information architectures and wireframes, and presenting design ideas to clients and team members. Demonstrated comprehension of UX and UI design fundamentals: ability to execute a design concept, take art direction, modify and evolve a design based on feedback, etc. Demonstrated knowledge of accessibility standards including WCAG 2.0 and ADA Section 508 compliance.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Experience with commonly used design applications such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Suite, Slickplan, etc. Experience theming websites using the Drupal Content Management System. Experience with component libraries, such as Pattern Lab. Experience in designing and coding pages (including using javascript) that are cross-platform and cross-browser compatible. Experience with mobile device interaction design and optimizing web platforms to take advantage of mobile device integration.
