SUMMARY

The Front of House Supervisor assists and supports the FOH Manager in the efficient and effective delivery of the Front of House operation. The FOH Supervisor manages staff in specific Food and Beverage areas as well as interacts with the customers directly and maintains the highest level of customer service. They are also involved in the receiving and delivery of food orders and have the ultimate responsibility of ensuring that all monies are received from the customer for products which we provide to them. Leadership and customer service are paramount with a Front of House Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED)

  • Must be courteous, pleasant, and always well groomed.
  • Effective problem solving and timely decision making
  • Display proficient knowledge of the food and drink menu.
  • Have an excellent knowledge of current and future events, related activities, promotions, and products
  • Use, maintain, clean, organize service area(s) and equipment, and identify all out of order equipment and report it to management in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the overall operation of the restaurant including point of sale transactions, expediting food service, re-stocking, quality, and staff breaks and performances.
  • Deal with all customer problems, comments, and complaints in an appropriate and efficient manner in line with company policy, documenting and escalating as necessary.
  • Interacts with guests and staff members, provides feedback to staff throughout their shift to ensure quality service; works with management to investigate and resolve guest concerns.
  • Monitor level of intoxication and behavior of guests.
  • Cut off guests if they appear to be intoxicated and informing all servers, bartenders, and Floor Managers on duty.
  • Assist with training, re-training, the development of all FOH staff to deliver higher level of customer service.
  • Follow the Food & Beverage Front of House Standard Operating Procedure packet.
  • Ensure that restaurants are sanitized, cleaned, stocked, and setup correctly for opening and that they remain that way throughout the shift.
  • Responsible for checking checklist and making sure the servers are doing their side duties.
  • Fill in or cover shifts in all areas when needed
  • Communicates with management during various shifts to ensure successful operations of the restaurant.
  • Ensure operational execution by communicating expectations to servers, bartenders, and back of house staff to ensure restaurant operations are efficient and meet all set standards.
  • Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
  • Provides administrative support for FOH operations including shift reports, scheduling, payroll, reservations, inventory receiving, and personnel matters.
  • Support management in staff performance related matters including employee reviews, corrective actions, investigation, conflict resolutions, etc.
  • Assists with the coordination of special events.
  • Assist with any other duties provided by the F&B Management team

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Train, supervise and counsel all employees in the department. Provide, develop, train, and maintain a professional work force. Ensure all services to members are conducted in a highly professional and efficient manner. Ensure a safe working environment and attitude on the part of all employees in areas of responsibility.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma and will have worked in the industry for 1-2 years.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Exceptional verbal, written and organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

High School equivalent math knowledge required.

REASONING ABILITY

Must be able to demonstrate the ability to make good choices, be able to distinguish between positive and negative situations, and how to approach situations and resolve them.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Servsafe Manager Certification or Food Handler’s Card, City of Stockton badge and Responsible Beverage Serving (RBS) Certified
