POSITION TITLE: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)/ Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
1 year Substance Abuse/Mental Health experience required.
DEPARTMENT: Nursing
REPORT TO: Director of Nursing (DON), or Medical Provider
Position Function and Scope:
The scope of a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant is to provide assistant to medical providers, nurses and additional medical staff to provide quality competent care to clients. The CMA/RMA can function in a clinical or an administrative manner. The primary function and scope of this position covers a wide range of nursing, patient care and unit managementfunctions including but not limited to limit setting/ boundaries, crisis intervention, medication administration, treatment planning, transcript of physician orders, collections of specimens. These assigned duties are performed in a manner consistent with accepted standards of practice set by the AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants) and under the director of a medical provider (MD/ NP) and/or Nurse. Duties require confidentiality, ability to communicate both internally and within the community, management knowledge and skills.
Typical qualifications and experience for this position include:
* Graduation from an accredited school for Medical Assistants
* At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant
* Certification or Registered Required
* Possession of strong written, verbal, and social skills.
* Knowledge of psychiatric disorders.
* Knowledge of Substance Abuse
Description of Duties:
* Ability to lead and motivate others
* Ability to work with a variety of healthcare professionals, disciplines, and clients
* Strong Organization and planning skills
* Strong attention to detail
* Administers medication per physician orders, collects specimens, measures vital signs, transcribes physician orders, develops, sets therapeutic limits for clients, documents in patient record and provides medication education, conduct prescreens and discuss with Admission Nurse with results.
Other Requirements: Must have knowledge of the computer and keyboard. Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written. Skills in answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner and using a multi-line phone system. Requires bending, reaching, lifting, stooping, ability to lift 25 pounds and can move hand and arms.

Pay: $13.00 - $20.00 per hour
