Collin County Adventure Camp (CCAC) is located on 430 acres of plush forest and Blackland prairie just 20 minutes northeast of McKinney, TX. The camp opened its gates in 2006 with a dream to bring the outdoor learning experience to children in Collin County and the surrounding area. We are currently taking applications for a Building and Grounds Keeper, which reports to the Camp Facilities Director, to carry out preventative maintenance programs and be responsible for the care of the grounds, and the care of the Camp infrastructure.
The Building and Grounds Keeper, is responsible for carrying out all maintenance related work orders and emergency maintenance needs and will serve as professional role model to staff, guests, and community. This position is responsible for the care and maintenance of all company owned tools and equipment and the security of all company owned tools, equipment, vehicles, inventory, and buildings. The Building and Grounds Keeper maintains the grounds in an attractive manner at all times which includes lawn mowing, trimming, edging, leaf raking, shrub trimming, lawn seeding, care and watering of flower beds, etc. The incumbant responds to general maintenance requests and emergency orders, must perform minor plumbing duties, faucet repair, shower valves, toilets, etc., must perform minor electrical repairs and assists with the housekeeping needs of the facility. The incumbent interprets and promotes all aspects and programs of YMCA Collin County Adventure Camp.
Any current utility certification is favorable. Working Saturdays is required and after-hours time may be needed during emergencies.
Must have working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, landscaping, vehicle maintenance, machinery and equipment care and operation.- Must have some knowledge in the areas of heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, septic systems, soil conservation, ventilation, and electronics.
- Must constantly be concerned with safety - both as it relates to campers, guests, and staff.
- Must be able to read and write and follow directions.
- High School Diploma or GED is required, associates degree or better preffered.
- Must possess the knowledge and understanding in how to keep a camping facility well maintained.
- Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties of this position is required.

Pay Range: $14.50 - $16.00 per hour
This position may include staff housing, depending on qualifications and availability. Salary will change depending on housing allowance.
