MARKETING COORDINATOR
Job Description (June 2022)
Summary Statement: The Marketing Coordinator is a key support position working with the Marketing and Communications Director to create content, develop and implement marketing programs, and coordinate marketing requirements in order to ensure organizational exposure, advocacy, and brand consistency.
This position is multi-faceted and requires occasional evening and weekend work in conjunction with periodic special events or productions. The Marketing Coordinator is supervised by the Marketing and Communications Director and works with other management staff.
I. RESPONSIBILITIES
The Marketing Coordinator ensures the implementation of marketing programs, utilizing graphic design and writing skills, as well as excellent time management and creative problem-solving skills. The Marketing Coordinator will demonstrate a comfort level with balancing multiple ongoing issues and changing circumstances. Specific responsibilities include:
- Implementation of various marketing tactics under the direction of the Marketing and Communications Director
- Coordination of graphics and images for various placement
- Create content – photography, video, writing and editing
- Provide graphic design assistance on posters, ads, and web banners
- Monitor deadlines for ads
- Coordinate creative production from designers
- Manage photographer for special events,
- Engage with on-line audience, posting, third party sites, etc.
- Website updates
- Revise various weekly signage in and around Theater
- Assess data provided by the Box Office to improve marketing strategies
- Provide marketing support for other Theater events such as the Annual Summer Gala and other Development programs
- Coordinate mailing and email lists
- Supervise local distribution of posters
- Coordinate permits and other regulatory compliance for sign placement
- Assist with the archiving of Theater materials (show photos, playbills)
- Attend staff and management meetings by conference call, and other meetings as requested; know Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint
SPECIAL PROJECTS
- Work with the Marketing and Communications Director on special projects as they arise.
- Assist at special events, off-season functions, education/community activities, and performances as needed/available on various tasks.
II. SKILLS
The Marketing Coordinator must have familiarity or proficiency with the following software and platforms:
- Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere)
- Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
- TikTok is a plus
- MailChimp
III. OTHER
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree and experience in marketing or communications. Non-profit experience preferred. The Marketing Coordinator will have strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Work is performed in a typical office environment. This position may require other support functions and duties as needed. Bay Street Theater is a growing organization with a small staff.
