Primary Responsibilities:

The Case Cart Technician performs a variety of duties related to the receipt, inspection, storage, coordination, delivery and ordering of materials throughout the Hospital

Essential Functions:

Receives materials and supplies; visually checks to ensure that merchandise confirms to established standard; prepares case carts for surgical procedures based on physician preference cards; acts as liaison between Central Processing Department and the Operating Room; maintains Surgical Tray inventory in the Operating Room to provide proper storage and maintenance of trays and supplies; answers phone in CPD to ensure the OR receives needed supplies in a timely fashion; works on computer in KCI Express, Jeff mail and ORSOS; reports defective equipment to appropriate supervisors or staff; checks sterile supplies to ensure they are not out of date; attends hospital in-service programs related to areas of work specialization; organizes and assembles routine or specialty surgical trays or other sterilized supplies filling special requests as needed; examines surgical trays to detect worn or loose parts, holes in wrapper or any evidence that the sterility has been compromised; stocks carts or other medical supplies as needed; maintains records of inventory or equipment usage; provides relief to distribution attendant; interacts with co-workers, visitors and other staff consistent with the hospitals values.

Education Requirements: High school diploma or GED required

Experience Requirements: Previous hospital supply logistics or retail inventory control experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of inventory systems and medical/surgical supplies helpful

Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
