Job Description:
Position Overview:
The General Manager of Mass Tort Solutions will be responsible for the leadership of the operational business activities, strategy and growth as well as indirect product, and infrastructure support (e.g., technology, financial accounting, etc.) of the Mass Tort solutions business segment of the Epiq business. This individual will assure that the company maintains operational efficiency in alignment with target financial margins to support long-term profitability and growth. Although the General Manager’s primary responsibilities will encompass the management of the Mass Tort business, the individual’s general business acumen, leadership, business judgment, and management experience will be equally important in the successful execution of the daily responsibilities and the individual’s ability to impact the broader organization positively.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Senior Leadership – this individual will need to possess a broad set of leadership and management skills that exceed the business operations and administration of the role. Business judgment and experience regarding operations, business development, client development, human capital and infrastructure/systems development, amongst others, will be expected competencies of the successful candidate.
  • Sales & Marketing – manage and partner with sales and marketing leadership to help develop and support execution of short- and long-term plans to grow clients and revenue in alignment with the bankruptcy solutions services competitive strategy.
  • Relationship Management – responsibility for the retention of clients in alignment with market reputation for client service excellence as well as long-term financial goals.
  • Operations – partnership and oversight for the execution of operational delivery (high quality, excellence, efficiency and accuracy) in alignment with business and client expectations.
  • Product and Marketing – partner with business product and marketing leadership to ensure the alignment of competitive, profitable and on-time product delivery and support.
  • Technology – partner with Technology leadership to ensure the delivery technology solutions and overall service excellence in a manner that meets client expectations.
  • Financial (P/L) – develop and deliver a budget that supports the Mass Tort and overall Epiq Operating Revenue and Operating Income targets; partner with Finance Planning & Analysis to discover and maximize business-specific efficiency and profitability gains.
  • Leadership & Culture – ensure the delivery of a world-class team and high-performing work culture that facilitates the delivery of business objectives.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experienced business leader who has broad oversight leading and growing mid-size organizations or business units/functions including P&L responsibility.
  • Experience in the Mass Tort services or technology services sector is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to meet the demands of a challenging business and workforce.
  • He/she will have experience managing multiple aspects of business operations, including, client services/relationship management, operations, and back office infrastructure support (e.g., product, technology, etc.).
  • Strategic insight, i.e. anticipating future needs and proactively supporting both organic and inorganic initiatives.

This includes working with technology and operating teams to develop a world class offering. Identify gaps and provide resolution. Assure product lines can stand on their own and eventually be part of an integrated platform-case development/administration offering that allows for both self-service and managed service offerings including Settlement solutions, MDL solutions and Lien Resolution. Financial Acumen - Understands and utilizes economic, financial, and industry data to accurately diagnose business strengths and opportunities; identifies critical financial issues and develops strategies and plans to reduce; effectively manages the P/L for the business/department; develops and incorporates an understanding of the competitive marketplace as well as an awareness of economic, social and political trends that impact the business

Change Leadership - Ability to define and properly staff- strategic layer, product owners, subject matter experts, delivery, technology, sales -and coordinate priority setting and rules of engagement. Develop a Go to Market Strategy including use of channel partners (such as Litify) including evaluation of current sales motion, division of responsibilities and skill sets. Establish Industry presence and relationships with top players including, but not limited to, NTL, MTMP, Lanier Academy etc. Establish strategic marketing focus. Communicates a need for change within organization that generates excitement and commitment to the change; initiates and/or manages the change process and invigorates it on an ongoing basis, taking steps to remove barriers or quicken its pace; obtains and provides resources to implement change initiatives and works to make others feel ownership of the change; clearly communicates the direction and challenges of change to all involved; models the change that one expects of others by demonstrating commitment to the change.
Candidates in Colorado:
Compensation range is 268,890.30 - 403,336.50 USD Annual plus may be eligible for an annual bonus. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience and qualifications.
