Position Summary :
Playfly Sports and specifically its Home Team Sports (HTS) Division is currently seeking a General Manager, Political Strategy to join their team. Sports, and specifically live, local sports is a powerful activation asset for political campaigns. The position is responsible for structuring and managing new political advertising and sponsorship sales partnerships for Playfly’s sports linear TV and digital media offerings. The General Manager will develop a solid understanding of the sports media landscape and the integrated Linear & Digital offerings of the Home Team Sports division.
The General Manager will be held accountable to quarterly and annual goals as outlined each year by Playfly Senior Management Additionally, the General Manager will be expected to develop an expansion plan for new types of inventory and eventually train, lead, and manage a dedicated team. This role will require thorough communication of all Playfly mandates and deal points, through participation in sales calls, planning meetings, and email communications both internally (with all Playfly personnel) and externally (with agencies, clients, and Playfly representation partners).
Responsibilities :
  • Negotiate political media, business development and sponsorship sales with inventory across the Playfly portfolio to develop new streams of revenue.
  • Lead the structuring and management of new revenue-generating partnerships in the Political sphere for Playfly’s sports linear TV and digital media offerings.
  • Manage new businesses and partnerships through sales & project management, strategic hiring, and internal communications to drive financial value & success.
  • Pursue and develop new business plans for initiatives that use Playfly’s competitive advantages, position in the market, and strategic resources
  • Create innovative digital and TV sales strategies and opportunities tailored specifically to Political sponsors
  • Participate in client activities, trade association events, and any ancillary activities that can assist in better visibility and partner opportunities in the market.
  • Support corporate development and mergers and acquisition team in sourcing and executing new deals.
  • Develop relationships with other media & technology companies, agencies & startups to build strategic partnerships and revenue opportunities.
  • Assist and support other parts of the Playfly ecosystem such as pro team/college partner development, Playfly Tech & Digital technology business development, Naming Rights, etc.
Qualifications :
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • A minimum of 5-8 years of political media and sponsorship sales required; strong understanding of corporate sponsorships, network, digital, sales and or agency experience in sports or entertainment field is a plus
  • Experience in business development, partner sourcing, and deal structuring
  • Significant existing industry relationships and ability to establish new contacts and interact at senior levels
  • Proven success in creating new business plans and projection for new initiatives and partners
  • Interest in and general understanding of the sports, TV, and digital/social media industries
  • Strong organizational, presentation, public speaking, and project management skills required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office computer applications, including Word and Outlook
  • Strong analytical reasoning skills in sales and research data (CPM, impressions, site metrics, data analysis, etc.)
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies & sales platforms
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain successful internal and external business relationships
Playfly Sports is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Compensation includes salary, incentive targets and company benefits.

The total pay range for this role is $150,000 to $175,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
