The Grant Specialist performs bookkeeper tasks and is responsible for the administrative duties pertaining to grant funds disbursement, and other administrative accounting functions deemed necessary. Strong communication skills are necessary for this position, as it will interact regularly with parties within and outside of their organization.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Records, Reports, and Correspondence

  • Prepare correspondence, forms, reports, and presentations for the Director and other department staff members.
  • Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required.

Accounting

  • Perform routine bookkeeping tasks and maintain department budget records.
  • Prepare and process department purchase orders and payment authorizations in accordance with approved budget and guidelines.
  • Assist with the management of Individualize Training Accounts.
  • Maintain approved vendors list and update Tax Exemptions as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with Quick Books software.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred.
  • 2 years of experience working with grants preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $43,000.00 - $47,000.00 per year
