Job description
- Displaying adherence to the organization’s mission
- Maintaining proficient knowledge of the organization’s history and programs
- Assisting with the execution of the development department's strategy
- Identifying grant funding opportunities
- Writing, submitting, and managing grant proposals
- Furnishing prospective funders with supporting documents
- Ability to write and maintain multi-million-dollar Federal grants
- Maintaining records in hard copies and computer databases
- Research, prepare, and submit proposals for funding
- Follow all requirements and deadlines for grant applications
- Maintain a grants calendar to monitor progress
- Communicate with potential donors and institutional donors
- Write sponsorship packages
- Identify new funding opportunities
- Review budget proposals with the CFO or other team leaders
- Develop grants strategy, and apply for federal and state grant funding
- Provide stewardship to current donors, including work with Grants & Research Manager to provide regular written updates
- Complies with all applicable training requirements.
- Complies with all company safety, personnel, and operational policies and procedures.
- Complies with work schedule to ensure effective operations of Agency programs.
- Contributes positively as a member of a productive and cooperative team.
- Performs other duties as necessary to fulfill the Society of St. Vincent de Paul South Pinellas, Inc. Mission.

- Able to speak, write and understand English.
- Possess basic computer skills.

- Successfully pass Law Enforcement background screening.
- Valid Florida driver’s license if driving an agency vehicle or a personal vehicle for company business.
- Must have reliable transportation
- Participates in Agency Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) program and Accreditation/Reaccreditation process.

- Experience with proposal writing and institutional donors.
- Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for government donors' prospect research.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word & Access)
- Good to excellent spelling, grammar, and written communication skills
- Proficient with fax machine/copier/scanner
- Professional appearance at all times
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion
- Excellent telephone and oral communication skills
- Use of independent thinking and judgment
- Ability to multi-task and think quickly
- Must have an “all hands on deck” attitude
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
- Bachelor's degree
- Ability to research grant opportunities and prepare grant applications
- High level of computer literacy.
- Willingness to learn specifics of writing Federal, State, City, and private foundation grants in a complex environment.
- Experience in non-profit direct services and/or program coordination is highly desirable.
