The Grants and Funding Specialist supports State PreK and grant programs. The Grants and Funding Specialist will work both independently and in partnership with Manager, Funding + Grants Compliance to ensure LCG maintains financial compliance with grantors.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare, deliver, and communicate reconciliation reports for State PreK and other grant programs.
- Prepare and coordinate reconciliation reports of program audits.
- Coordinate grant/State PreK program audits and LCG audits, providing financial statements, billing reports and other backup documentation as required.
- Perform PreK, Accreditation, and grant project administration including project ID establishment, project summaries, and meeting deadlines.
- Responsible for intake, processing, and coordination of PreK, Accreditation, grant invoices, and check payments with department staff.
- Coordinate grant orders with Purchasing and Safety teams to ensure compliance.
- Prepare grant backup documentation for project grant journal entries.
- Record journal entries for grant programs as necessary.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, early childhood, business, or management preferred.
- Minimum two years’ experience in an accounting or finance role.

- Capable of working with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
- Effective communication skills, written, verbal and interpersonal.
- Proficient time management, organizational skills, and ability to meet established deadlines.
- Strong month-end booking skills
- Ability to calculate reasonable allocations for shared expenses.
- Understanding of full cycle cash flow processes and tracking.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including mathematical aptitude.
- Ability to use computer and internet for research and online applications.
- Able to efficiently handle conflict/complaints and resolve quickly and appropriately.
- Skilled in business and general business practices.
