Job description
Plan and direct the activities of the grocery department to meet organizational goals and objectives and provide outstanding product and service solutions to our customers.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties
· Promote outstanding customer service with all guests and associates.
· Project a professional personal image
· Develops daily plan of action, communicates necessary tasks by priority and follows up to ensure completion.
· Monitors and coordinates staffing, employee work schedules, and conducts orientation in regards to standards and procedures.
· Directly supervises grocery department staff and provides regular training, coaching and discipline, and conducts regular performance reviews.
· Selects and orders good and services sold within the department, including special buys, promotions and seasonal products ensuring consistent quality of product.
· Facilitates all pricing within the department by negotiating with vendors, collaborating with the Store Director, monitoring pricing within the market, verifying pricing and shelf tag accuracy and monitoring volume.
· Merchandises department by assisting with unloading and stocking, setting product displays, managing inventory and creatively promoting sales, seasonal and other specialty products.
· Actively promotes department and stores by assisting with branding, advertising and planning.
· Monitors department expenses by observing loss prevention strategies, managing inventories, verifying accuracy of invoices and analyzing operational tracking reports in order to make any adjustments necessary.
· Monitors department conditions and equipment maintenance and ensuring procedures are following and standards are adhered to in the safety and cleanliness of the department.
· Attends conferences, conventions and trade shows as requested to provide innovative guidance to associates in the latest trends and marketing ideas as directed.
· Actively participates in training and development.
· Facilitates all corporate policies and procedures.
Education/Work Requirements
Degrees/Certificates High School graduate or equivalent
Job Experience 2 years or more previous retail experience. Management or Supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills AbilitiesProficiency in basic math skills. Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
Physical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry 20 pounds regularly. Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds occasionally. Continuous standing, lifting, bending, walking. Occasional crouching and kneeling. Some repetitive motion. This position is subject to a typical retail store environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
