Posting Summary
Maintain campus landscape including all ornamental plantings, specialty/corrective pruning and tree removal, turf, athletic fields, sidewalks, roadways and parking lots. Responsible for the maintenance of irrigation systems. Access information utilizing computer software programs. Responsible for delegation of tasks, functional supervision of crew and follow up on task completion. Promote a workplace that encourages safety within the Shop and field. Operate a university vehicle to transport materials, tools, and equipment.
Actively engage in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability and delivering great customer experience. Reports to the Grounds Unit Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
High School Diploma and three years’ landscape maintenance and plowing experience/equipment operation required. Experience using computers and mobile technology required. Valid driver’s license and driver’s check required. Specific physical requirements may apply based on job functions. Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing specific job tasks. Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of background check and physical screening.
