Theprimary purpose of this position is to set up and operate the CNC (ComplexNumeric Control) Vertical Boring machines, to perform very specialized andprecise machining functions on a variety of parts and components.

Toolsused include but are not limited to, inside and outside micrometers, verniergauges, dial indicators, wrenches, blocks, jacks, deburr tools, readouts, andP.C. as well as operating cranes,

Jobduties require a basic knowledge in the use of shop mathematics, together withthe ability to read and perform MDI programming, use of complicated drawings,specifications, charts, tables, various types of precision measuringinstruments and/or the training generally applicable in a particular orspecialized occupation.

Musthave a minimum of 3 years CNC Vertical machining experience. Abilityto read and use blueprints. Must also be able to read,write, understand, and follow verbal and/or written instructions. Mustqualify for and maintain appropriate equipment certifications of Siemens Energy(i.e. Fork truck, crane, etc.).

Your responsibilities

Work from manufacturing information, drawings, written and/orverbal instructions and perform such operations as:

• Usingmaterial handling devices, loads/unloads parts from machines and/or assistscrane operator.
• Setup machines by installing tooling, adjusting to proper machine settings, feeds,speeds, etc., per job documentation and drawing specifications; assure propertooling pre-sets.
• Securework piece to layout or and/or surface with use of set up blocks, leveling oraligning equipment.
• Followestablished procedures on lineups, manuscripts, programs and tooling sheets tooperate machine.
• Usemanual, semi-automatic or automatic controls to perform machining operations,such as: cutting bores, turn, face, groove, radius, turn, and grind, etc.
• Performin-process integrity checks, as required, in order to maintain specific drawingtolerances.
• Conductin process testing and charting operational information and/or recording dataas required.
• Makeany necessary tool changes or offsets, and therefore, re-orients machine, asrequired.
• Removechips from work piece and for inspections, as required.
• Deburrand cleans work, as required.
• Performpreventative maintenance and may correct minor machine malfunctions.
• Returntooling, attachments, fixtures, etc., to proper location upon completion ofoperation.
• Completelog sheet, downtime records, and other information, as required by data collectionsystem.
• Adaptto various situations and adjusts to shifting priorities.
• As afederal contractor, Siemens Energy continues to monitor federal and state legalguidelines regarding the COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Siemens Energy ispausing its mandatory vaccine policy while the issue is addressed by thecourts. SEI will monitor the situation closely and may reimplement its policyif required to comply with federal law. Should the vaccine policy bereimplemented, this position requires employees to be fully vaccinated againstCOVID-19 unless they are granted a medical or religious accommodation.

• Set-up and operate CNCvertical boring mill to perform a variety of machining operations on a varietyof parts.

• The successful candidate will primarily work in the Rotor Machining manufacturing area within Siemens Energy Gas Turbine products division. Other departments on shift will also require talented machinists. Success is dependent upon the ability to use operational measurements and matrixes to effectively manage the business day to day
