Job Scope:

Guard Shack Attendant will ensure gate is consistently closed and monitored at all times during shift. Gate is opened only to allow authorized and verified vehicles and personnel in or out with verified paperwork.

Job Responsibilities:

Demonstrate friendliness and greet every customer as they enter gate

Maintain a professional appearance and a neat work environment.

Make sure customers and transport drivers receive prompt, efficient and courteous attention for all contacts and transactions.

Resolve any customer complaints in a friendly, courteous manner and advise the Manager or designated auction manager of all serious complaints or incidences.

Inspect the fence line for indications of unauthorized entry or potential security risks.

Ensure the auction building and grounds are secured at established times. Note any security, safety or fire hazards.

Watches for and reports irregularities, such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.

Secure gates at established times and patrol auction property.

Maintain a good flow of communication with other auction personnel.

Monitor and control all facility conditions and vehicles for security and safety purposes during shift

Maintain a current list of emergency and Management telephone numbers.

Qualifications:

Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license.

Must complete and pass a background and drug test

Physical activity requirements of the position range from Light to Medium Physical Work.

Constant sitting, watching, listening, standing, walking Frequent talking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, crouching

Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting

Position is subject to both inside and outside environmental working conditions, including temperature changes, and outside weather conditions.
