Position Title: Guardium Engineer

Positions Overview:
The Guardium Engineer is a technical expert in database security technology, architects and designs implementations and integrations with deep, specialized knowledge of IBM Guardium in Database Activity Monitoring. This position would report to our Guardium Data Protection Managed Services team monitoring, maintaining, and expanding functionality for our customers Guardium environments.

• Be responsible for designing and delivering database security solutions in both on-premises and cloud infrastructure based on relevant security standards, governance, and control practices
• Assess the effectiveness of security controls and recommend adjustments
• Conduct technical research when necessary to contribute to setting security direction and strategy
• Assist others on own team, or other teams where applicable, on all security projects or security-relevant tasks on technical projects
• Experience with large scale Database Activity Monitoring system
• Ability to perform design, installation, performance testing, patching, trouble shooting and daily operational support using the IBM Guardium DAM tool
• Knowledge of industry best practices for designing, implementing, and maintaining Guardium DAM tool
• Ability to work within a formal Change Control system (planning, documenting, scheduling, and implementing)
• Hands-on experience using IBM Guardium version 10/11 database activity monitoring
• Provides hands on engineering and operational expertise for Guardium infrastructure, including both VM and physical appliances
• Proficient knowledge developing all forms of reporting, alerting and SIEM integration
• Strong knowledge with Guardium policy rules development and implementation
• Strong knowledge with anomaly detection development and testing
• Ability to work in a flexible work environment
• Able to communicate / present technical details to a wide range of audiences
• Ability to work independently, leading meetings with application and development teams discovering and documenting detailed requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent
• Certification: IBM Guardium Administrator
• 5+ years’ experience implementing and administering IBM Guardium in a large-scale IT organization
• Familiarity with data governance regulations concerning Sarbanes-Oxley, PHI, PII, and PCI
• Experience with Guardium data classifier (sensitive object discovery), Entitlement Reports, Vulnerability Assessment instances
• Experience working with major database platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, Db2
• Experience working with major cloud-based database solutions in Microsoft Azure, AWS, Oracle Cloud
• Detailed knowledge of major OS platforms such as Windows, Unix/Linux
• Experience with z/OS and iSeries a plus
• Experience with ETAPs, Azure Event Hub Feeds, Kinesis Streams a plus
• Experience with Guardium Insights clusters a plus
• Excellent verbal, written communication, and documentation skills
• Flexibility for scheduled after hours agent and patching change windows
