Ogallala Ace Hardware part time gun department associate:

General Summary:
We are looking for people to add to our team who excel in customer service. These people would ideally have extensive knowledge about the guns we sell as well as all gun related categories. These employees will spend the majority of their time in our gun department but may be asked to worked elsewhere in the store as need dictates.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Customer Service

• Project a positive representation.
• Smile and greet customers entering and throughout the store. Thank customers by name, when possible, when they are leaving the store.
• Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
• Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently.
• Communicate any problem or issue that requires management assistance.
• Continually build product knowledge base and possess the ability to assist customers with store layout and product location.
• Assist in pricing, stocking, marking and bagging of merchandise.

Register Operations

• Follow all cash register transaction procedures.
• Responsible for transactions of all gun sales during their shift.
• Participate in store meetings.
• Be able to work a schedule that satisfies the needs of our store, including most every weekend.
• Desire to become an integral part of our team of employees that can be relied upon to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Answer and monitor all calls and pages promptly, courteously and effectively.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and management to ensure excellent operation of gun department.

Gun Department Appearance and Upkeep

• Become trained ASAP on how to process all gun related paperwork according to ATF standards.
• Keep the gun department, including gun counter and all gun related areas neat and clean at all times. Face and dust to maintain appearance.
• Ensure all gun transactions are legal and gun paperwork is done according to ATF standards.
• Keep entire gun department well stocked at all times.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Standing, walking, lifting (up to 25lbs) and climbing.

Education/Training:
In depth knowledge of guns and willingness to learn about them.
High School or GED equivalent.
