Hours: 30-40 hours per week, flexible schedule; the schedule can include two weekends a month and some evening hours.
Supervisor: Aquatic Program Administrator
We are looking for new individuals to join our amazing aquatic team in a leadership role. Opportunities to instruct classes are also available to keep your week full of variety.
Duties: The Head Lifeguard functions as the day-to-day shift manager with responsibility for customer service, pool safety, events, shift duties, supervision, evaluations, drills, training, operations, troubleshooting, first aid, emergency services, problem-solving, reports, and other functions.
Qualifications: Must be 18 years or older, possess excellent customer service skills, embody an enthusiastic, energetic attitude, be team-oriented, and be willing to learn and contribute to the team and the Park District. Must have or can obtain:
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
- Current American Red Cross Waterpark Lifeguard Certification
Wage: 12-step salary scale: $23.47 to $32.49 per hour. Starting wage DOE.
Benefits: A complete benefits package for regular part-time employees (and their families), including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending account, basic life, and long-term disability insurance. Participation in the Washington State Public Employees Retirement System and eligible to contribute to the deferred compensation program. Accrue six hours of vacation and six hours of sick leave each month, 12 hours of personal leave (prorated if hired after the first of the year), and six hours for each of the ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Discount on most Park District classes, free pool pass at the Aquatic Center, and basic fitness membership at the Bainbridge Island Recreation Center (BIRC) while employed for employees and dependents.
