  • High School graduate or college student preferred

  • Minimum 18 years of age

  • Current American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certificate

  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training certificate. Lifeguard Certification 2021 info: HERE

  • Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certificate preferred

  • Ability to command respect

  • Ability to take direction but also carryout duties independently

  • Neat appearance and pleasant personality

  • Physical endurance and excellent physical condition

  • Possess organizational and administrative experience

  • Successfully complete the facility’s lifeguard test

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years experience as a lifeguard

  • Experience as Head Lifeguard preferred

  • Completion of standard high school course work or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Ability to supervise the work of others; initiative and resourcefulness

  • Thorough knowledge of first aid, CPR and water rescue techniques

  • Thorough knowledge of water testing

  • Ability to take instruction and work with other supervisors to carry out an operations plan as a team

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Assign and oversee lifeguard opening and closing, clean-up and safety check duties

  • Assist in oversight of lifeguard appearance and the quality of customer service

  • Assist in directing and carrying out Emergency Action Plan as needed

  • Conduct safety checks, report unsafe conditions and assist in implementing corrective actions

  • Conduct water tests and maintain records on water tests as directed by Seasonal Manager or Water Park Director

  • Perform Lifeguard Duties and responsibilities as needed

  • Implement and enforce pool safety activities and assist in training staff and educating the public regarding rules and water safety

  • Supervision of lifeguards and ensuring necessary lifeguard staff rotation and shift change

SECONDARY DUTIES:

  • Assist in swimming lessons

  • Assist in facility upkeep

  • Assist in keeping facility, especially pool/deck clean of debris and refuse

  • Complete required records and reports on time

  • Carry out all additional duties, including opening and closing cleaning duties as assigned by Season Manager or Water Park Director

  • Other duties as may be assigned by Seasonal Manage or Water Park Director
