Head Start Classroom Lead – Richland Center

The Southwestern Wisconsin Community Action Program (SWCAP) is looking for a Classroom Lead for our Richland Center, Wisconsin, classroom.

The starting pay rate for the Early Head Start Early Childhood Specialist position is $16.25 per hour, or higher, depending on your qualifications. SWCAP offers a generous benefits package, including health and dental insurance, retirement plan and ample paid-time-off.

Classroom Leads are the primary instructors in the Head Start classroom. Classroom Leads develop and implement educational curriculum; conduct screens to determine the development status and needs of enrolled children; and collaborate with parents of enrolled children to continue education and development outside of the classroom. Classroom Leads assure that the Head Start classroom is welcoming, friendly and supportive.

To be a Classroom Lead, you need:

· An Associate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Development.

· A valid driver's license, or the ability to get one prior to employment start, and use of an insured vehicle.

· Regular access to a telephone.

· A health exam prior to employment start that includes a negative tuberculosis test, and health exams every two years thereafter.

· The ability to obtain certification with the Wisconsin Childhood Care and Education Registry within 3 months of employment start. We step you through this.

· The ability to pass Head Start background checks. You understand, we're concerned with the health and wellbeing of young children. We step you through these requirements.
