Head Start Teacher's Assistant-$13.54-$14.67 an hour.

Job Responsibilities: Assist in creating an environment that invites learning through exploration and discovery, and provide a climate of security, which encourages wholesome interactions and aids each child in developing a positive self-image. Assist in providing a variety of developmentally sound experiences to help the child's overall development. Assist in preparing educational materials and lesson plans. Assist in helping to implement a curriculum that will aid each child's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. Assist in seeing that program records and reports are maintained and submitted in an accurate and timely manner. Assist in monitoring individual development through observation, testing, and recording. Assist n implementing the discipline plan that emphasizes positive goals and helps develop a positive self-image for each child. Observe for physical, social/emotional, and cognitive problems, Asst in recording and referring to appropriate team manager/teacher. Assist in making required home visits. Assist in planning and conducting parent management activities and events. Assist in insuring classroom staff and volunteers are following all Head Start and State Licensing regulations. Assist in the responsibility for the health and safety of the children, both in the center and outside on the playground. Assist in encouraging parent/caregiver participating in the child's education. Assist in providing high quality teacher-child interactions. Participate in team observations, training, and follow-up meetings with Teacher Mentor Coach for enriched teaching practices. As trained, assist teacher with implementing conscious discipline strategies in the classroom and with individual children displaying mental health problems and behavioral concerns. Maintain confidentiality. All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requires a minimum of a High School Diploma & CDA credential or willing to complete one within two years (Cardinal will assist and pay for credentialing) or any associate or bachelor's degree in any field plus experience working with preschool children. Pay varies on Education.
