Job description

The Head Start Teacher Assistant will assist the Head Start Teacher in all aspects of the care and training of children enrolled in the Head Start Program. The Teacher Assistant will teach with emphasis on development of the whole child including partnering with parents. Must have the ability and willingness to assume responsibility for continuing pre-planned classroom activities in the absence of the Teacher; administer planned instructional activities and evaluate children as directed by the Teacher.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following;

• Provide day to day supervision and guidance of classroom staff and volunteers.
• Ensure policy and procedures are properly applied.
• Develop and monitor
• Manage classroom operations. Ensure policy and procedures are applied.
• Plan and participate in staff meetings, case management meetings and in-service training.
• All other duties assigned.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED. Obtain and maintain First Aid and Infant/Toddler CPR. Obtain health screenings as required.
