What you will do:
As a member of the primary health care team, the position is accountable for overseeing and managing the operations of the health center located in Philadelphia. You will ensure quality health care is provided to patients with special awareness of vulnerable populations treated in the health centers that may face barriers to care due to residence, health, age, personal characteristics, ability to communicate, chronic illnesses and comorbidities, high ER utilization, developmental status or financial status.
This position assists in strategic organizational initiatives and acts as problem solver to Operations management, medical director, providers, patients and staff. Oversees established financial processes and ensures staff executes daily business office functions and procedures. This position directly supervises the clinical support staff.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations of a health center, including but not limited to patient flow supervision.
  • Holding staff accountable to a patient centered culture
  • Ensuring that organizational goals and objectives are met
  • Handle day to day operations for the health center (i.e. appointment scheduling and cash collection).
  • Oversee cash collections and account reconciliation at the close of each business day.
  • Supervise, mentor and coach both clinical and clerical support staff.
  • Complete Performance Reviews and corrective action process for supporting staff.
  • Participate in the hiring and firing of supporting staff.
  • Keep inventory of medical equipment and supplies, orders when necessary.
  • Participates in budgeting, growth and development efforts as required
  • Handle legal correspondence that references provider issues as referred by the medical support staff.

Job Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelors in health care administration or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of medical office management experience, preferably in a community health care setting.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience, supervising a team of 5+ employees.
  • Experience working in a Patient Centered Medical Home preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent supervisory/managerial skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
