Position Summary:
ABSC is seeking Health Informatics Analyst to support the Health and Human Services Vaccine and Therapeutic Clinical program as a remote employee reporting to the Washington, DC based team. This team has been tasked to lead, coordinate, and synchronize federal pandemic preparations and response in order to enhance and accelerate the ability of the United States government to protect the health and safety of the US population before and during a global infectious disease outbreak. Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Provide data collection and analysis support to foster planning, operations, and scheduling related to the therapeutics team.
- Provide coordination for (i.e., prepare the meeting announcement, agenda, and presentation materials), participate in (i.e., provide verbal comment/recommendation concerning technical and management matters), and follow-up (i.e., develop meeting minutes and after-action correspondence for Government review and approval) for meetings, as required for additional data analysis.
- Prepare for agency meetings and senior level forums by running data analytics, compiling information, preparing briefings, and conducting final quality control of read-ahead packets.
- Review and edit correspondence and reports submitted by staff for accuracy of content, language, and grammar in relation to program objectives and issues.
- Support the completion and correct retention of all required documentation and official records.
- Stay current on changes in the COVID-19 Federal response landscape.
- Evaluate raw data generated from data stored in various systems of record and provide recommendations to USG.
- Make sound and timely recommendations to facilitate decision-making.
- Offer strategic, research-based advice on analysis strategies and other data analyst related activities.
- Assist in development and editing of various documents, including meeting summaries, and briefing materials.
- Assist with the design, research, and execution of H-CORE projects for senior leader review.
Experience Required for this Role:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Possess at least five (5) years of experience in conducting data analysis, operations research, or other relevant quantitative analysis.
- Have experience in developing decision support analysis and conducting health informatics analysis.
- Have experience in working with protected data, health-related data, and personal health information.
- Desirable: Possess previous experience working with government institutions.
- Possess strong organizational skills (e.g., time management, communication, setting goals, delegation, working under pressure, self-motivation, analytical thinking, and attention to detail).
- Demonstrated ability to convey complex information to senior leaders in both virtual and in-person meetings/environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as good customer service skills, organization skills to balance and prioritize work as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and creative thinking.
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
Clearance:
- Public Trust, Tier I – non-sensitive (Public Trust Tier I determination and Secret or TS security clearance)
