The Health Information Coordinator is responsible for processing requests for release of information from the official medical records.

• Answers the unit telephone to process requests and inquiries.
• Communicates with patients, internal staff, and external customers regarding requests for records.
• Liaisons between the practice and the release of information company.
• Accepts, processes and responds to all internets, faxes and jellybeans, including subpoenas and court orders.
• Requests archived charts from storage when necessary.
• Communicates with patients, internal staff, and external customers regarding requests for records.
• Prints or photocopies records as needed to satisfy requests.
• Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• One (1) year related experience
• Medical Record Release, HIPAA
• Computer skills including, but not limited to, MS Office
