SUMMARY

This position is responsible for developing, managing, and implementing Health/Safety programs for all SkyHop Global personnel according to company policy/procedure, local, state and federal guidelines. This is a salaried position (exempt from overtime).

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

Health Administration

Programs/Policies –

  • Develop and implement Health/Safety programs/policies and procedures to minimize and eliminate workplace accidents and injuries

Workers Compensation –

  • Develop and implement solutions to minimize worker injuries
  • Respond, track, and monitor workers compensation claims and return to work programs
  • Safety Administration
  • Driver Safety –
  • Speeding and harsh driving reporting (daily/weekly/monthly)
  • Research and follow up with leaders on safety incidents and accidents – serve as Accident Investigation Committee chair
  • MORs – research, follow up with leaders, respond/upload to SafetyFirst and reporting

Driver Compliance –

  • MVR and DOT Physicals - notifications to manager regarding medical/license expirations and violations (follow up to ensure compliance)
  • Driver Qualification reporting – monthly run reports to verify annual MVRs and review results
  • Develop, monitor and implement policy/procedures to ensure DOT compliance (perform regular audits of each station)
  • Vehicle Inspections -
  • Monitor and follow up with managers on all FAULTS noted in vehicle inspections, auditing & reporting
  • Ensure Faults are being processed and closed appropriately with documentation (this should be linked to PO process when not routine maintenance items)

Safety Training –

  • Develop and implement new hire and annual driver safety training programs/policies
  • Ensure new hire safety training has been scheduled and completed prior to first time driving – follow up with leaders on completion and report out
  • Assign annual safety training (done by anniversary date)
  • Upload completion certifications in Paylocity and/or driver qualification records
  • Safety Incentives/Rewards –
  • Calculate and distribute quarterly safety rewards
  • Reporting and follow up on rewards processed by quarter

Random Drug/Alcohol Testing -

  • Ensure random pool is uploaded timely for monthly random draws
  • Develop and coordinate implementation of any changes to Drug/Alcohol policies
  • Follow-up and return to work testing as required by policy
  • Safety Inspections & Audits -
  • Ensure station compliance by conducting on-site health/safety inspections and audits.
  • Create, coordinate and participate in station activities to increase health/safety awareness.
  • Health/Safety Technology -
  • Actively seek out, test and implement new innovative technology solutions to enhance health/safety compliance and increase accountability.

Requirements:

Must possess two to three years’ experience in safety, compliance/regulations related to transportation industry or industries with fleet operations/drivers; strong written and verbal communications; time management skills; exceptional organizational skills and thorough research and follow through skills. Must be able to respond to emergencies 24/7 as needed. Must be able to travel to station locations on a routine or as needed basis
