Keymark Corporation of New York, an aluminum extrusion manufacturing plant, is actively interviewing applicants for Health & Safety Manager at the Fonda, New York manufacturing plant.

We are looking for applicants with a minimum of 5 years’ experience (combined with education) with progressive responsibility executing Health & Safety policy in a heavy industry work setting. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements and laws to prevent hazards and injuries. As a Health & Safety Manager you will work with the site leader to manage and develop safety programs to educate managers, supervisors, and stakeholders to champion the prevention of hazards, risks, and injuries.

Candidates Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety & Environment preferred; or equivalent of five years' experience in progressively responsible safety position; or an equivalent combination sufficient to perform essential functions of this position.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) training is preferred.
  • OSHA Certified (30 Hours) required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint

Responsibilities:

As a subject-matter expert, the Health & Safety Manager will provide coaching and support to managers on policy interpretation, driving decisions to meet state, federal, and corporate policy requirements. This will require you working closely with and listening to all stakeholders, so that we build the most effective systems that are rooted in the reality of day-to-day operations.

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • You should have a thorough understanding of the safety requirements of worksite equipment, including setup, operation and maintenance.
  • Demonstrates a “hands-on” approach to working with employees and “Hands-on" approach to working with employees and management to instill a strong H&S culture.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills required.
