The Compliance Analyst will support the Healthcare Compliance Director and the Healthcare Compliance Program within the InComm Secure Department to ensure business integrity and compliance with all Federal and State laws and regulations, contract provisions, accreditation standards, and internal policies/procedures to support growth of the organization. The Compliance Analyst will implement system wide initiatives, policies and processes related to the expansion efforts and be responsible for program oversight, risk assessment, creating reports, education/training and audit/monitoring.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a liaison and Subject Matter Expert for HIPAA, HITRUST, CMS – Medicare and Medicaid, and Continuous Monitoring engagements on behalf of InComm and external clients and vendors.
- Assists in reviewing and following up on the work performed by other Internal Audit personnel and/or resources from co-sourcing firms ensuring closure of Corrective and Management Action Plans.
- Understands and appropriately follows auditing standards, regulatory requirements, and performance criteria.
- Monitors progress against deadlines including timely communication of progress, obstacles, and issues to management as needed.
- Builds, develops, and maintains relationships with business partners across the company.
- Develops programs and procedures to ensure healthcare compliance and achieve personal, company and departmental objectives and goals.
- Assists in the identification of risks and changes to the existing system of internal control.
- Monitors and updates internal controls and documentation of evidence and identifies key controls as business processes are changed.
- Conduct internal oversight of organizational compliance with CMS, HITRUST, HIPAA and other obligations.
- Conduct or assist in internal compliance investigations and reviews, attestations, and audits.
- Assist in the development of compliance training materials.
- Work with and/or assist in developing compliance databases, tracking tools and auditing tools as needed.
- Provide ongoing resources and advice to team and management relating to Compliance issues.
- Assists in preparation for all regulatory audits.
- Conducts investigations concerning possible fraud, waste, and abuse and supports the activities of the Enterprise Risk Management Committee.

- Working knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations, OIG, HHS and other governmental regulations.
- Works well in a team environment with the ability to work independently and set priorities.
- Strong analytical skills with superior attention to detail.
- Polished, professional presentation, interpersonal and communication skills; both written and verbal.
- Excellent organization, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Decisive and exercises good judgment under pressure.
- Prior experience working with a Healthcare compliance and/or Healthcare audit program desired.
- Basic understanding of the company's business practices and familiarity with the company's products and services.
- Bachelor’s Degree, related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Advanced skills with MS Office tools (including Excel, Word, Power Point), Outlook and experience with auditing software.
- A Certified Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified CSF Practitioner (CCSFP) certification or other similar compliance related certification(s) are preferred, but not required. Career development plan to include certifications upon hire.
Required experience:
- Minimum 3 years of full-time experience in healthcare compliance department/role or relevant healthcare industry experience.
- Excellent organizational skills, with demonstrable ability to write clearly and concisely and to analyze facts within the context of a regulatory environment.
- Excellent time management skills, extremely self-directed.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrable ability to work with diverse functional areas
- Initiate and follow-through on projects with little supervision or guidance.
- Assist in the formulation of policies and procedures; understand and interpret policies, procedures, and regulations; edit and coordinate editing of policies.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff, agencies, and the public.
- Communicate effectively at all organizational levels and in situations requiring instructing, persuading, negotiating, consulting, advising, and writing persuasively.
- Work cooperatively and effectively on group projects.
- Effectively utilize computer and appropriate software and interact as needed with information systems.
- Excellent writing and editing skills and computer skills.
