POSITION SUMMARY:
Sound Physicians is seeking a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Finance team as a Financial Analyst. This is a challenging role with the potential to make a large impact on the organization.

The Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting the Regional Director of Finance in delivering financial analyses and reporting to support key decisions for customer and regional performance optimization and business development. The position is a key member of the Finance team and reports directly to the Regional Director of Finance.
This highly visible role has significant interaction with Operations, Finance, Accounting, Revenue Cycle, and the Performance Management team. Cross-functional collaboration, critical thinking, strong interpersonal skills, intermediate to advanced excel expertise, and written and verbal communication skills are a must.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Thorough understanding of individual hospital contracts for assigned customers
  • Prepare staffing and pricing model analyses for contract amendments and renewals
  • Budgeting and forecasting with understanding of key financial and operational drivers
  • Work closely with Operations, Finance, and Accounting to ensure monthly financials reflect consistency with operational activities and contract terms
  • Monthly due diligence and written analyses of actual performance vs. budgets and forecasts (e.g., payroll variance investigations)
  • Understanding of cash collection patterns for professional services revenue including key drivers of cash collection performance (i.e. payer mix, volume and administrative processes)
  • Create monthly and ad-hoc reporting to support operational and financial needs
  • Provide analytic support for strategic projects
  • Support implementations and Go-live initiatives

Basic Qualifications

  • Critical thinking skills
  • Highly analytical, detail oriented, and organized
  • Strong understanding of Finance and Accounting
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Positive attitude, team player with strong interpersonal skills and flexible approach
  • Strong desire to learn and continuously improve

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare or Medical Device industry experience
  • Evidence of stretch assignments reflecting superior performance in previous roles
  • Proven organizational skills with strong follow through and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Self-starter and problem solver with the ability to succeed in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to thrive and grow quickly in a fast growing company
  • Adaptive Planning experience

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Education
Minimum: BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or Economics
Preferred: MBA and/or CPA
Experience
3 - 5 years related experience in corporate finance, FP&A and/or management consulting
A combination of finance and accounting work experience is strongly preferred
